Automotive parts, 3D printed with SLS, that you can check from the first prototype.

Industrial SLS 3D printing of automotive prototypes, technical components and small batches in PA 2200 (PA12) and PA 3200 GF. Check geometry, fit and function before you commit to production tooling.

Flaws hide in the CAD. They show up in your hand.

Check the fit before tooling is made

Check geometry, fit and assembly on a physical prototype before investing in production tooling. Design flaws surface earlier in development.

Faster development iterations

From a change in the 3D CAD model to a new physical prototype, with no new tooling to make. Faster iterations mean more efficient design verification and optimization.

Iterate in days, not weeks. Get to market first.

Change the CAD model, not the production tooling. With SLS 3D printing every new design revision becomes a functional prototype quickly, so you can check geometry, fit, assembly and function on a physical part. While the competition waits on tooling, you're already fitting the third iteration.

What we print for automotive

SLS isn't only for checking a concept visually. With the right material and design, we produce functional components for testing, development assemblies, spare parts and small batches of end-use technical parts — with no investment in conventional tooling.

PA 2200 for versatility, PA 3200 GF for stiffness and wear

Most automotive prototypes and parts are made from PA 2200, a versatile polyamide resistant to heat and chemicals. Where extra stiffness, dimensional stability and wear resistance matter under sustained load, we use PA 3200 GF.

PA 2200

Polyamide 12 (PA12) - versatile standard

High strength, chemical resistance, dimensional stability and biocompatibility. The most commonly used material for functional parts.

  • Tensile strength 48 MPa
  • Elongation 18 %
  • HDT 157 °C

From an SLS prototype to a repeatable small batch

Start with one functional prototype. Once the design is confirmed, the same SLS technology carries on into small-batch production — with no investment in conventional tooling.

Frequently asked questions about SLS 3D printing for automotive

SLS 3D printing is suitable for producing functional prototypes used to check geometry, fit, assembly and functionality before committing to production tooling. Suitability for a specific mechanical, thermal or chemical load must be assessed based on the design and the chosen material.
